Poll: Let these sites guess your location based on IP

maxmind gave me a coordinates only, but those pointed to Toronto (right now)

Both are wrong. One is off by ten miles or so and the other 15 or so.

I don't think you can really expect accuracy much closer than that.

It got the nearest major city correct, and the county it's in.

maxmind was exactly right, and IP2location was a little off.

Both put me in Austin, Tx. I grabbed the latitude and longitude numbers and put them in Google Maps. Maxmind was a bit more accurate.

first was 1 city away (tampa when i live in st. petersburg).. 2nd said palm harbor... no clue where that is only that its withen a 2 hour drive, but had the right area code

so first was more accurate in my case

both were ok, altought maxmind tries to play smartess by stating that I'm in a certain "area 05" within my city that has no real meaning imho
