hahaha...One had me in Nova Scotia(fairly close) and the other(maxmind) had me in Ontario(way off)

Thanks guys - can you all vote in the poll as well - that would be great.

I'm trying to decide which license to buy. They're about the same price. I'm mostly concerned with US addresses. (But our foreign friends are more than welcome to voice their results too :))

Being in the Boston area, I couldn't be further from the Bronx, on many levels... :p

Maxmind was correct (Canonsburg, PA - Tiny ass town south of Pittsburgh).

ip2location was WAY off, reporting Stanford, CT.

Maxmind only got my Country and left the other fields blank.

ip2location got my city right. As a matter of fact, the latitude/longitude co-ordinate is only 4 miles from my house (checked it on Google Earth)!

Both got my City/State and provider on the nose, so I didnt vote for either since both worked perfectly.

I wonder how their methods differ to occasionally give differing results.

maxmind got closer to my location, but was about a tenth of a mile difference between the two.
