Poll: Laptop Database

I would like to know if anyone else would find a database of laptops useful. It would be something done on sourceforge as a web application. The usefulness that I see in it, is if somebody would like to search for a laptop and know there needs specifically, or even generically they can look it up.

I am not aware of any such thing online. I know of a motherboard database, and that is all I can think of.

By all means, if you know of such a database online please tell me.

My plan, if I determine it would be useful, would be to use mysql and php or python. I have had experience with both of them, and are learning sql in a class at college right now.

Please tell me what you think.

I think it would be a good idea... there are a lot of manufacturers who sells laptops now so it's hard to find the one that suits you exactly without spending a LOT of time researching... I looked around for half a year before I decided on which one I wanted 😉

If you want some help with PHP and/or MySQL just let me know...
