I have 2 KT7-Raid boards, one with Duron 600 and the other with a thunderbird 800. The muliplier on the duron setup will not work when set at "9.5x" but will work on all other settings. The thunderbird setup will work with multiplier settings up to "8x" but not "8.5x" to "9.5x", BUT will go work with "10x" (not stable in win2000).

Anyone else experiencing these types of problems?

Thanks,
Blessed

P.S.

This is my very first post. Loved this forum and have been reading here for a year.

Yeah, infact, you just helped me. My duron 600 didn't work at 7x and 8x, but it DOES work at 9x. Go figure. Howell, fine with me, 900 baby! Now I jus gotta get the FSB up to 110 or 112 :D

I have a similar problem at the moment where mine won't do the X.5 settings. You may need to redo the pencil trick to get it to work right, I haven't gotten around to doing it again myself....

I was hoping I didn't have to repencil it. I'm really lazy. I'm relieved I'm not the only one with this problem. Thank you anyways though.

Guys!

Use something BETTER than a pencil and these issues do not occur. After having to re-Pencil mine several times to get the multiplers fully functional, I grabbed some Rear Window Repair paint form the Three Stooges (Pep Boys) and haven't seen this issue since. Granted its a couple bucks more costly than a pencil, but one little bottle goes a long way for like $7.00!

Hi guys!

I am comtemplating the purchase of a Duron650 or 600 with intent to go for 950mhz :) My question is this: retail or OEM? I've heard that the retail gives you a better chance of getting one of the early ones that weren't locked... but if I did get a locked one, how hard is it to pull the fan off to do the pencil/silver pen trick? Do they have thermal paste in there? I'd probably want to replace the stock fan anyway though...

Thanks!

P.S. I'm thinking of buying the socket A HO from 3dfxcool.com for $20, any recommendations for this cooler? Should I go with another?? I want a quiet one here.. my global win on my Cele keeps it cool, but man my ears ring!

wizz0bang, The retail Durons do not have the fans attached.

RawHotSauce, haha... Are you laughing at my obvious mistake in grammar or my laziness? LOL.
