I chose the Soyo Dragon Plus, primarily because of the features, speed, and stability. I reallly wanted the built in Promise controller, as I have a ton of IDE devices, and I may go for a RAID config at some point, but I'm not sure. I also liked the built in NIC. I don't use the on-board sound, as I use the SoundFonts on the SBLive a lot. the board has been very good for me so far (1.5 months). Very stable, no conflicts, easy to setup, with tons of extras and a great manual.

Got the Asus A7V 2766E
performance, features, stability, and good overclocking, plus its an Asus so it won't die on me in a year.

Well I'm probably the only person in this entire forum using the DFI AD70-SR, or a DFI board period, but I went with that because it was cheap, had exactly what I wanted, and is super stable. I have used a DFI board previously (the AM75-TC) which I had really good luck with, ie it has not crashed once since building the system, and neither has the AD70-SR (both running Windows 2000). I actually use the RAID so that's a nice perk. So really I just wanted a no-nonsense high quality, cheap, and most importantly stable board. This one fit the bill. imho, its a good choice for those who don't want to overclock (or are too lazy to unlock their athlon xp's like me) and want stability but don't feel like paying for an Asus board.

I was just about to buy the Epox 8KHA+ when I heard about the 333 boards. So I'll be waiting for a few weeks until the board and reviews-comparisons come out and make my decision. It took ages for the first decision to go for the Epox and basically it was based on 1) performance - on a par with the Abit, 2) stability and 3) price. Also I've had an Epox socket7 board for the last 3 years with a K6-2 300mhz and never had a problem and that was in their early days. I'm sure the other boards are fine - especially when you consider the other comments in this forum - Soyo, Abit and Shuttle were other considerations but here in Australia the prices of the Abit board is almost double to that of the Epox.

I just hope that the 333 boards are stable.

I got the Shuttle AK31 rev 3.1, for the low price, and the 4 DDR slots, and extra PCI slot.

ABit KR7A-RAID. All around great board w/great OC'ing features. Although, I'm less than pleased with the Highpoint RAID performance with my Maxtor D740X's.

Epox - probably because of this forum. Stable board.

Can't get my FSB over 100mMhz with my Athlon 900, so I'm gonna pop for a Athlon XP 1600 or 1700 soon. Otherwise love it.
