I'm using a ECS KM133 board right now with 384MB of PC133, I am using the on-board video, with a DUron 800. I am considering moving up to a Shuttle AK31 rev3.1+Trading in my PC133 for PC2100+Ocing my Duron to 150fsb, and I am wondering weather going to KT266A would make a difference in office app/Multitasking performance. Would it especially with the 150fsb? I think so, but I'd like your opinion. Thanks!

I'd stick with your KT133 for right now. A KT266A is only an upgrade for people that either:

1. Need a whole new system for gaming
2. Need the memory and speed of KT266A for video editing and other related type stuff.

Why go through the hassle of ordering a KT266A, waiting for it, installing it, and then selling your previous board to partially compensate for the KT266A purchase if you're just going to be multitasking?

Good luck.

I would. I just built a Duron system on a Iwill KK266-R board (KT133A) I had sitting around, and a Duron with a 150mhz FSB on a KT133A board with SDRAM is a good deal faster than running a 100mhz FSB...I would imagine a KT266A/DDR setup with a 150mhz FSB would be a very nice improvement. I couldn't resist a Duron 850 for $35! IT does 1.1ghz to boot....:)

To a lot of us, that is actually fun, and far from a hassle. I love waiting for new hardware and setting aside some time to build the new system. :) That's part of the reason I have so many damn systems...;)

That's kinda part of it is because I want to do stuff like this! Besides, I allready could use my current mobo for something else, and well truthfully, I wanna overclock! I prolly still will anway, anybody else have something to say?

If you have the budget for it ... and you want more boxes .. by all means go for it ... I'm gonna be making that move some time or another (or possibly sis735) myself ... but im too lazy because i'd have to redo my ide raid ... and also my credit card bills are more than my paychecks sometimes (bad)

Neither. Why don't you get an Nforce? It has an Integrated Geforce2MX along with dolby 5.1 and built in NIC.

I think it do not makes big difference in normal apps.
For gaming sure, but forr Office and multimedia? No.

I sincerely do not feel any difference between an P2 450 and a Durn 936 in Office.
Cheers,
