I just wanted to know if you had a job when you graduated from college. Was it related to your field or not. If you didn?t how long did it take you to find a job in your
Field? Maybe you liked the job you had and stayed for a while. Please share.

I got a job not directly in my field but it is related. I did CS so lots of avenues.

I had a job in my field when I graduated, but my case was different since I was already working for them while I was in school... Stayed there total for around 3 years before I left...

i will be graduating with a masters in accounting but i'll be doing tech consulting

i had intern ship experience in audit from summers but found a job while in school

Uncle asked me to visit while in school.
Could not wait for a couple of months for the sheep to be sheered.

I had an internship in my field which resulted in a full-time job after graduation. Promptly left less than a year later for another field.

Had a student job in tech services at a research facility. When I graduated, I moved down the hallway to a programming team. Got a degree in information systems. Staying there for 1.5 years, turns out it was a lousy team with man-hating management. Moved on to a newer, bigger, better programming job.

I had a job in my field while in college, but they declined to hire me upon graduation... they took on another student in my place.

I took a month off after graduating, and then it took 3 months to find a job.

Graduated in December, was working in April.

I just got a job on wall street after doing an internship there this past summer. It's right up my alley as far as the degrees im graduating with (Economics and CS). I'm continuing with Econ MA a year after I graduate, so I guess that sort of leaving the field.

I don't think there are many jobs you can get with a Linguistics degree.

But I love my job.

There is always demand for translators.
A degree in Linguistics doesn't mean you're an expert in another language.

I had a job offer from the company I temped at over the summer (before my last semester)... I accepted the offer within 3 weeks of graduation and started right away. 3 months later, I took a better job... felt bad about leaving so soon, but I've been at that "better job" for 5+ years now. Both in my field.

huh?

Air Force pulled me into OCS while still in school working on Masters.
Was scheduled in June, went active in April. Law of supply and demand.
I was the supply and they were the demand.

sheep sheered -> sheepskin -> diploma

That would have made a LOT more sense if you had said "Uncle Sam" instead of just "Uncle".

Actually I work at the community college I graduated from in the IT Department. Actually it is still called the Data Processing Department and we still print lables for mass mailings and class rosters. We are in transition from mainframe to database system.

ATOT is not the best place to post this if you do not have a job. You will get very discouraged. 85% of ATOT seems to go to great colleges and have 3.5s and above.
