Male pattern baldness is unfortunately a gradual process, which is why I didn't really notice until this weekend that I'm already being affected by it. A quick examination of some family photos at the folks' place has informed me that at the tender (*snicker*) age of 22 I'm going bald. Woe is me, blah blah blah... okay, I'm over it. Honestly, I expected this, though not quite so early. (I'd ballparked for 25) If my grandfather is any indication -- and he is -- I'll be cue-ball bald by 40.

Anyway, I'm now presented with a limited number of options in regards to hairstyle, which is annoying for someone who is fond of dying their hair random colors they pick out of a hat. Being the dyed-in-the-wool ATOTer I figured what better way to get input on what I should do about my hair/hairstyle than making a poll. So, folks, what's your vote? Go bald? Try Rogaine? Spike it and hope nobody notices/cares? Something even more bizzare? I'm open to suggestions.

EDIT: A taken-with-a-$19-camera insta-shot of me

EDITx2: Moustache, yea or nay?

well don't shave it completely, just cut it really short (like 1/4").

That's what I did. Granted, I'm 42 and I only noticed my balding at around age 39 or so. It sucks, but I absolutely refuse to spend any money trying to grow it back, even getting a transplant is absolutely out of the question.

I get it cut really short, a military high & tight, which is what I prefer anyway.

Then again, the comb-over trick works good for some guys. :D

I make no apologies for the fact that I'm using a $19 "disposable" digital, the horrible centering of the shot, or the fact that I don't particularly care to dress up for y'all. :p

The moustache probably doesn't help. It's an experiment to see if I look good in one. I'm not thinkin' I do so much, at least with the current hairstyle.

It's starting to kick in for me, and I'm only 20, but yeah keeping it short makes it ALOT less noticable, if you let it grow in, you definately see that it's thining out.

I'd at least try Rogain to see if you can't save it now before you lose it all.

Don't bother with regrow drugs. You're wasting money. Crop it very short and shave your facial hair. With your facial hair gone, people might not notice the new radically different haircut.

i started going bald at about 19. (noticably, where people say, wow, you're balding). At first it was a receding hairline, this was fine, I wore my hair down all the time, so i didn't care. Then it started thinning all on the top! Now, at age 21, I'm balding at the back, and shave my head totally. Razor. I look badass :)
