favorites is a end user right. it is custom to THEIR computer. if their computer is being backed up regularly, this should be part of the backup.

We don't backup anything on the local machines. If they want it backed-up, they must put it on their network share.

that is the official policy of my company, but usually someone will give it a quick "once over" to make sure the critical things are saved.

The only reason I could see it being IT domain is if the company in question makes extensive use of an Intranet....

My end solution will be implementing the "auto redirect" of their documents, favorites etc.. based upon their OU policy, however this takes some time to get setup.

I have everyone in a general domain policy with default restrictions, but as I get around to ensure their documents and programs are working correctly, I can't just add the whole domain! Of which was the response from one of my end users: "How long will that take? Can't you do it today?"

Secondly, the policy has a installation point for Office 2000. In the past the application was installed manually via CD on the workstation, but now I'm pushing it via, yes again, the OU policy. Now that being said, who anyone like to take a guess on what kind of network traffic will be generated if I push over 30 installations of Office 2000 across the network?

My comment to them is this: "Your favorites are your responsiblity, however since so many of you don't know how to take care of your information I have a plan that will do it automatically for you, BUT you will have to be patient while I get everything configured. This doesn't happen over night."

Maybe I should post another poll? Question: Do you think employees will want to benifit if the corporate office buys CBT's for the employees? Just shooting from the hip, I think my first response from a End Looser would be, " Do we get paid while we stay after to view it? "
