Mazda6. If I remember the window sticker, 20% Japanese, 80% American. Assembled in Flat Rock, MI by UAW workers.

Domestic ... Toyota Corolla that was actually built in Canada with 75% domestic-made parts!

I've actually been aware of this for quite awhile, although I must admit if it was still easily possible to buy a car that was like 95% Japanese & rolled off of a boat from across the Pacific I'd do it .. the 1985 2WD Toyota truck I owned was the toughest & most reliable thing I ever drove & my first Subaru which was mostly built in Japan as well wasn't far behind.

Anyway, my car is an import. Made in Germany, designed by a Japanese guy. :)
Grand Prix White with red is sooo choice. Alas, I purchased used.

Absolutely no regrets, though.... <cue ferris bueller quote>

i have a vw and a volvo, too :) vw passat... got totaled. got the volvo s40.

2003 VW Jetta TDI, love 48 mpg, and a 2004 Volvo XC70. I like the S40s though and would concider it on the short list if the Jetta died.

West Germany. I guess its a bit dated. haha.

only thing I'm aware of thats not german is:
ECU - Hitachi, Japan
Climate control unit in the dash, and the vacuum relay box for it - USA - AC Delco/GM ( I think cadillacs from the same era used the same thing)

Had a GPW with red/black interior for about two months last summer. Would still have it if my brother-in-law didn't total it.

My Dodge cargo van is American.
My Tundra truck and Sienna minivan can be considered American too.

I've been mostly american - geo, but now mazda (which is part ford.... right?). i'm big into domestic and looking at something new now. my grandfather was a GM employee so i get the discount, but the new dodge nitro is hot and it would be amazing in the weather that i'm getting here in dc - that would be sweet: nitro
