It has to be real. Anyone making up something would do a better job than that. Who the hell would make up "we went to the gym and I weighed her." The poor guy has a crush on her and isn't able to think straight. Anyone still thinking logically would type "we went to the gym and I weighed her", rethink it, and delete that line.
