i don't even have the energy to troll this thread as it's been sucked out of me from months and months of retarded inane threads.

"Sick" far outdates rice.

First time I heard it was from a guy that looked like a hispanic thug, and this was back in the late '80s / early '90s.

lol. I know the general expression "sick", has been around for a while. but it just seems... that it is shared with ricers. for example, many people who say sick just happen to be ricers, and many people who are ricers happen to use the expression "sick". just rubbed off as a ricer expression to me. i know not only "ricers" strictly use it though

and corporaterecreation.. good job on unintentionally trolling.. 😛

Actually, I've heard it out of "Afro-American" and the "skaters-white-boys" the most, and they seem to have different meanings.

Why would you even consider it a "ricer" slang/expression? I've heard "That's sick!" from punks, thugs, nerds, all types of people.

It's just this generations thing to say. Over the years I've heard, "That's bad!" "That's rad" "That's awesome" "That's sweet" ...you name it. Every generation has to have a saying that belongs to them, as sayings like "That's groovy" sound old.
