Peyton has put up AMAZING numbers, but against who now--for the most part poor-mediocre teams. Hell Houston gave them a game yesterday.

I guarantee you they will not get past Pitt or NE in the playoffs. It was already shown the better defensive team will win vs Colts despite the rules changes (and don't kid yourself that it wasn't Martz and Dundgy being the main complainers).

Both Pitt and NE will be able to beat Indy.

Also due to Peyton's contract, I am curious what kind of team they will be able to field in the future.
They ain't winning nothing until they can improve their Defense.
I'll take that bet against Pitt, because I think they can beat Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is good,b ut even against good teams they're putting up 24 points, and I don't think Big Ben and the Bus will be able to put up numbers like that against Indy.

As for who complained most about the rules changes, it doesn't matter. IT WASN'T A RULE CHANGE! The rule was there for a reason. Just because the Patriots and the Panthers couldn't handle sticking to the rule, don't blame that on a couple of coaches. Did you see what Ty Law did to Harrison? This isn't fvcking NFL Blitz. There are rules in football for a reason.

As for NE beating Indy, that may very well happen. Belichick is just too good. A lot of what Manning does well is getting used to what a defense will do against him. But NE has shown in the past that they're capable of keep him completely in the blue. What he needs to do is just play his game and execute correctly. Instead of watching film, tak emore reps with Harrison, Wayne, and Stokley. Get in a good rhythm (can it get better than it is now?), and make audibles based on what they show on the field.

All for naught since the Colts do not have a defense.

<-- saw Peyton play when he was a Volunteer and wishes the team could go all the way since the Titans are cap this year.

Manning's a great QB but until he gets his team into the Superbowl, he's merely human.

the last place team in the AFC can beat the first place team in the NFC, so they really aren't that bad

that's odd, i could've sworn that the only team from the AFC that beat the first place team in the NFC was the AFC's 1st place team.

just because the cowboys aren't making the playoffs after last year's fluke, don't get all bitter. theres always 3 years from now...

At this point Manning is Marino-esque in the regular season, and also Marino-esque in the playoffs, which is equivalent to a paper-tiger.

Kev you fvcking idiot, get off your goddamn high horse for once in your pitiful life.

The NFC is awful. Awful, awful, awful. Yea, the Eagles are respectable, but they are the only one, and they still will lose to the likes of the Colts, Patriots, or Steelers. I didn't mention the Cowboys, this thread had nothing to do with the Cowboys, go stab yourself in the spleen with an overly sharpened popsicle stick.

it's too easy to get you riled up. i guess beating the nfc by an average of 18 points per game is only "respectable"

Actually that last post was attempting to rile YOU up.

btw, Dallas might suck, but you'd better hope your little team can produce better games than last night in the future. That was pretty pathetic.

I'm more referring to the playoffs. Play like that even against Atlanta, and I hope McNabb enjoys watching the Superbowl from home.

And hell, don't forget Dallas is as good or better than Washington.

I think Peyton Manning is all that. Unfortunately, he plays for a team with the worst defense in the NFL. Until they get a good defense I think the Colts have almost no chance of getting to the Superbowl.

I wouldn't mind being proven wrong on this because I like the guy and I like the Colts but I don't see them making it past the Patriots or Pittsburgh this year.

Every win except for one came against teams ranked in the lower half of the league in defense. In that one win against Jacksonville in Week 4, Peyton threw for 220 yards with 2 TD's and 1 INT.

On the other hand, how many of those teams in the lower half would be in the upper half if they hadn't had to play Peyton?

I don't think the Steelers stand a chance against the pats or the colts in the playoffs. the steelers have a great defense, but rothlisberejrehrte gets so god damn lucky with some of the stupid rookie mistakes he pulls that it's going to finally catch up with him in the playoffs. I don't think they even make it to the afc championship

I think the Patriots are going, and winning. Roethlisberger is successful because, well, he doesn't do much. The team really relies on their defense, and on offense, they have a great running game, and a great offensive line. He just doesn't have to do much.

He needs to rub some of his magic off onto his brother Eli. It's funny how he wanted to go to the Giants because he believed he'll never flourish in San Diego. Maybe that's what's motivating the Chargers this season ... to make Eli look stupid (as if his plays aren't doing that already). :D

Except lead amazing comebacks against Dallas and Jacksonville. Yes, mediocre QB  I'm beginning to believe most people havn't even really seen him play and are just looking at the stats... Another reason he doesn't have to have so many pass attempts is because he has good completion percentages. If you need to throw it 30 times to complete 16 passes then you have to do that, Ben doesn't need to throw it 30 times to complete 16 passes. Yes a lot of that has to do with their running game but they haven't been that dominate in the run in their past 3 games so there has been a lot more pressure on him to perform, especially late in the game where he doesn't give up. After starting out terrible vs. the Jets, their 4thQ TD drives Ben was money - that's what counted, he didn't let the poor prior performance be the story of the entire game.

I don't think Big Ben and the Bus will be able to put up numbers like that against Indy.

What exactly makes you think Indy will have a defense by then? They've consistently had one of the league's worst defense. Pitt's O isn't known for scoring a lot of pionts but against the Colts D if they have to they can light up the score board just as well.

Leagues best D vs. the leagues best O is a good matchup, but it isn't as if the Steelers have the leagues worst O to compliment the Colts' D...
