I was at a restaurant today for dinner with my friend. The dishes run from $11 - $20 and people can dress casually inside.
the bill came to $39.08. I had 8 cents and put that towards the bill but my friend says that is a low class thing to do, he says the proper thing to do is round up to the nearest dollar and then add in the tip. I disagree. I think you pay exact or close to it if you have the change and then add in tip.
So is paying exact change (if you have it) and then adding in the tip a low class thing to do.
Your friend is a moron. The only thing insulting you can do is leave a tip on one cent with the tails end up. That's to show your displeasure with the serice. Never have done it, but that's what is done.
AS for change? Hek no. Your friend is a 'tard. The last thing a waiter/waitress wants is spare change. I'd rather have whole dollars, wouldn't you?
