It seems like he enjoys to destroy his oppenents, giving the occassional glare when someone steals a question away... He looks weak but I wouldn't want to cross his path in person :evil:

edit: he just won himself a flat $40k...
 
don't they give the contestants a book to study from the night before the show? so it's not like he knew all this info before, maybe he just does great at studying.

Are you kidding? I never heard that they had any idea what the material was on.
 
the guy writes college bowl questions. i'm not surprised.

he probably starts ringing in when alex is halfway through reading the question.

if they ring in too early, their buzzer gets jammed for a second or two. I think that's how it works anyway.

It might be different now, but it used to be if you buzzed in Alex stopped asking the Q and you had to try and answer even though you don't know the whole question.

No, you can only ring after Alex has finished reading the question. I saw a special on primtime or 20/20 when some reported tried. I think if you ring in before you can only answer until after the other two have tried.
