*POLL* Is it the mobo or the memory?

I figured a poll would be best. I am *this close* to buying a new mobo, but figured it prudent to ask first. Here's the situation:

Antec Trupower 430 PS
Epox 8RDA+ (rev 1.1...the old one)
2 512mb sticks of Corsair XMS3200C2, but NOT a matched pair...purchased separately.

The sticks will not do 200MHz, dual channel at ANY CAS setting; mobo will boot, but Windoze BSDs immediately. Tried at 2.7v DIMM, but not higher.

However, the memory/board will do 210MHz+ at CAS2 single channel. 😕

So, is it the board or the memory? You, the Anandtech readership will decide if I spent yet more money...damn this habit...er, hobby.

Well it does do that and more, but only in single-channel configuration. Who the hell wants that though, right?

It's do dual-CAS2 at 166MHz. Blech. So pitifully SLOW. 😀 Once you've seen the 200MHz promised land, anything lower is simply unacceptable. 😀

Done that. At 166 to about 190MHz, memtest generates no errors. At 200Mhz it farts out at the seventh test every time.
