POLL!!! Is it Soda, Pop, Sodapop...etc

Live in TX. Most people say soda. If you say "coke" here, you will get Coca Cola brand. Not many say pop here. Some say soda and pop, but they are in the minority also.

Central Texas, coke.

There is another thread around here on this same thing, but has a map of US and where the most popular term is being used.

"Pop" sounds so country-bumpkin 😛 And I have yet to see a beverage company call their own product "pop", but I've seen "Soda" many times. Maybe it's just where I'm from 😛

My girlfriend calls it "pop" (she's from Pittsburgh) and I can't stand it. I grew up saying "soda" and nothing else (I'm originally from NJ.) Of course, she also says a lot of other strange things like "sweeper" instead of "vacuum", and "buggy" instead of "shopping cart"

Someone posted a pic of a big map of the US and what it's called in different areas in an older thread. I have it saved, but I'm too lazy to get it hosted.

Everyone around the University of Pittsburgh calls it "Soda". Personally, I know better and I call it "pop". The strongholds for the word "pop" seem to be Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconson, mainly the upper-midwest.
