CA's economy is bigger that most countries. We have it all here. The only things we don't have are dumb hicks, ridiculous weather, tornadoes, huge floods.....
I didn't see anyone else say this, but we have TEH HOT WOMENZZ!!!!!!
you have earthquakes, forest fires and mudslids
id put those in the ridiculous weather catagorie
Okay, and I grew up in the Bay Area. The 1989 earthquake killed what 60 people? 40+ of which were on the 880, so really how many of our houses collapsed? Then every year how many homes in Florida get screwed up cuz of hurricanes? Earthquakes strike once in a long time, but hurricanes come all the time. We dont' have tornado watches all the time. I have an uncle from Georgia and yeah he tells me about the weather. My cousin came over for my graduation and in 1 week he decided that his goal now is to get into StanFUrd or Cal because CA just rocks his home state.
What I'm saying is CA has everything. You can go to the beach one day (it's 90 out here today), and you can literally drive up the mountains and see snow. I remember snowboarding a few months back and people were talking about surfing at 6am and nightboarding in Tahoe. Where else can you do that?
And if you think CA is disgusting, much of your opinion must be based on LA or SF or Oakland or whatever crap you can dig up about us, but as someone who lives in the South Bay, I have to say this is like living in the OC or whatever. The city isn't too far away, so if you want that urban nastiness that you can get in NYC or other places, I can drive an hour up. Otherwise, I can enjoy the blue skies and CA weather in my suburb just fine.
Yes you can mention crappy roads, but are our roads THAT bad? If you look at the top 10 worst traffic locations in the US, DC, Atlanta, Phoenix, Dallas show up along with LA, so think about bashing those places also. I admit that I get plenty of road rage drivign along the East Bay and in SF, but I'd take that driving anyday over LA driving. In the South Bay I don't even complain at all.
Beaches + Mountains = WIN. I mean honestly, look at the people who enjoy mountains. The WEST COAST comes first. Sure The Rockies would be nicer, but please, show me the mountains you have on the East Coast because even the Sierras can stomp all over them. As a snowboarder, I love the west coast. I have yet to hear of people flying east to find snow.
