Cost of living sucks the most here. Wish our cost of living was similar to that of some 3rd world country.

I will agree with the cost of living being way to high, but there's a reason for that people want to live here. I would pay 2x what I currently do if I had to to keep living here. 1/4th my current living expeinces wouldn't be enough to make me want to move to another state.

as for Anubis's comment about pizza, San Diego has a place called Bronx Pizza - NY pizza with Cali Weather, best of both worlds. I had their Whitestone about a month ago it was delicious.

Apparently you've never been to the entire South East or MidWest

I notice that no one has mentioned that we have, easily the most attractive women in the country here.

Ever been to miami?

Miami has nice females, but Cali's are legendary, David Lee Roth didn't make the song "Miana Girls" for a reason, they're not the best. I would say Miami #2, they do have some AMAZING Cuban females, but Cali females are #1 by such a large margin it's not even close really.

I noticed a lot of the stupid shit youtube vidoes come from people in the midwest/east. They do some of the wackiest shit, but I'm guessing its because you people out there don't have much else out there to do.

No we have plenty of dumb hicks, example - Redlands, Bakersfield & Victorville. I wouldn't say our dumb hicks really come close to comparing with the dumb hicks in Southern states, but they're still dumb hicks.

There are plenty of hicks in California, they are kept in places like Orangevale. I'd classify them as rednecks though. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

We moved from California, to North Carolina last year. I lived in California for my entire life (31 years) until I left. I don't regret moving to North Carolina, and I do like it here, but if I had the money to afford a house and live comfortably where I'm from (SF Bay Area) back in California I wouldn't hesitate to move back. It will always be my home.

I think you mean Rio Linda. Orangevale isn't hickish at all.

That's why I said rednecks. Big difference between hicks and rednecks IMO. Maybe I'm just biased because every Norcal redneck I know is from either Orangevale, Roseville, or Folsom

Okay, and I grew up in the Bay Area. The 1989 earthquake killed what 60 people? 40+ of which were on the 880, so really how many of our houses collapsed? Then every year how many homes in Florida get screwed up cuz of hurricanes? Earthquakes strike once in a long time, but hurricanes come all the time. We dont' have tornado watches all the time. I have an uncle from Georgia and yeah he tells me about the weather. My cousin came over for my graduation and in 1 week he decided that his goal now is to get into StanFUrd or Cal because CA just rocks his home state.

What I'm saying is CA has everything. You can go to the beach one day (it's 90 out here today), and you can literally drive up the mountains and see snow. I remember snowboarding a few months back and people were talking about surfing at 6am and nightboarding in Tahoe. Where else can you do that?

And if you think CA is disgusting, much of your opinion must be based on LA or SF or Oakland or whatever crap you can dig up about us, but as someone who lives in the South Bay, I have to say this is like living in the OC or whatever. The city isn't too far away, so if you want that urban nastiness that you can get in NYC or other places, I can drive an hour up. Otherwise, I can enjoy the blue skies and CA weather in my suburb just fine.

Yes you can mention crappy roads, but are our roads THAT bad? If you look at the top 10 worst traffic locations in the US, DC, Atlanta, Phoenix, Dallas show up along with LA, so think about bashing those places also. I admit that I get plenty of road rage drivign along the East Bay and in SF, but I'd take that driving anyday over LA driving. In the South Bay I don't even complain at all.

Beaches + Mountains = WIN. I mean honestly, look at the people who enjoy mountains. The WEST COAST comes first. Sure The Rockies would be nicer, but please, show me the mountains you have on the East Coast because even the Sierras can stomp all over them. As a snowboarder, I love the west coast. I have yet to hear of people flying east to find snow.

The South Bay is a fucking Yuppie Ant Colony and it's freeways suck during the commute times. Wall to wall humanity scurrying about like a bunch of crazed wankers looking to get their fix of Starbucks.

I'm sure I missed plenty:

--Beaches
--Snow covered Mountains
--Wine Vineyards
--Dairy Industry
--Tech Industry
--Film Industry
--Deserts
--Lots of Amusement parks
--Forrests
--Large Metropolitan Areas
--Cozy Suburbs
--Beautiful Weather throughout Most of the year
--Surfing & skiing

BTW, I'm not some huge California nut hugger but find me another state that has everything I just mentioned.

It's called BC.

.. how about that $16 billion dollar budget defecit you guys have going on... nice. :) I've only spent time in LA/OC which is a pretty bad yardstick against which to measure the whole state so I'll suspend further comment since MN isn't exactly a paradise on earth.

The only thing we Californians can't seem to fucking get is a decent public transit system.

Fuck!
