Does anyone trust Zogby after their Ziegler debacle?

I didn't even trust them before that.

If Rush makes this list, it's already a poll that doesn't make sense. We all know the Muslim bullshit he was spreading during the campaign and the hate he was spreading along with that.

O'Reilly is allright tho he can be an asshat at times, but his show is watchable.

LOL @ you

Newsflash: the majority of people I meet daily have little clue about world events, world news, etc. i.e. the average person is relatively uneducated and has little knowledge of current events. "Rush Limbaugh, yeah, I heard of that guy. Stephen who?"

Colbert is a self described Democrat. :D

And he doesn't deal with things down the middle. His character is decidedly Republican.

To OP topic: Zogby poll and unbiased? Can it really be??

Have you watched his show, say, at any point in the past 3 months? He was nothing but a cheerleader for Obama.

And it is fun watching all the liberal circle-jerkers scrambling to put this poll in the "proper" context. :D

I've heard that the original name for Fox News Network was the Please Drink The KoolAid Network...

 Colbert doesn't cheer for Obama or any of the Dems. He portrays himself as a far right conservative but he's obviously doing it in satire.

It's even more fun watching conservative circle-jerkers attempting to portray Faux News as a real news source.

This is because the people who watch Fox News and listen to Rush Limbaugh accept everything they say without question, and thus their trust is absolute. Liberals are more educated and are more likely to be critical thinkers who won't necessarily trust their chosen newscaster as an ultimate dispenser of the gospel truth.

Bahahah!

So how was the NYT this morning?

It is human nature to believe a news story if you already agree with the slant. Just like all the lefties jumped on the "He's a n****".

Fox? Sad.

Well, not really.

the country is roughly split 50/50 liberal / conservative.

Fox is the only major news that is conservative vs. 5 or 6 liberal ones, so the lib ones split the liberal vote between them.

Imagine if the final election was between 1 conservative candidate and 6 liberals. The conservative would easily win.

Isn't this pretty much it? Fox wins in most of the ratings battles because libs watch a variety of channels and dittoheads only have one place to go so their heads don't asplode.

First off, I don't read the NYT, nor do I watch MSNBC (at least not often). Secondly, I never jumped on the "He's a n*****!" bandwagon, and I have always had doubts as to the claims made by certain left-wing interests. What I do know is this - most people are dumb, regardless of their political affiliation. Dumb rural voters go Republican, dumb urban voters go Democrat... same difference. I know for sure that there was plenty of racist hatred going around in the GOP camp during the election campaigns, but I don't think the McCain campaign wanted it to be like that. It was just disorganized ramblings by idiots. There's probably just as much racism among the Democratic ranks that just wasn't visible.

Actually, you are right. When I think about it, true critical or independent thinkers will not automatically accept what anyone says without at least giving it some thought, and people like that are in the minority but they exist among all political affiliations. Most of my family is intensely liberal, and they eat up the shit that Keith Olbermann spews out. While I do often agree with Olbermann, I also hate him, because he's doing the exact same thing that people like Bill O'Reilly do. If not for him (and a few others), it'd be easy to just say that people on the political right are the only ones practicing this brand of "anger journalism." But the reality is that it's human nature to respond to that kind of crap, and for whatever reason, it just happens to occur more frequently on the right.

While I do agree that Olberman is a left wing hack, the major difference between him and O'Reilly is that Olbermann usually has his facts correct, and O'Reilly lies and makes up shit that is not even close to the truth. MSNBC has a left wing bias, but still gives you the facts.
Fox makes stuff up and slants everything they can to the right.
Colbert, on the other hand, is a gem.

That's true, a lot of right-wing radio hosts will just make shit up. I don't know if they do it on the spot or if they plan ahead, but I tuned in to a talk radio station the other night and heard some guy ranting about Obama and gas prices and he said that ethanol is $3 a gallon. I wanted to dope slap him because just a couple days earlier I had been to a gas station that sells E85 and it was only $1.50/gal, a full 20 cents less than regular unleaded.

That's the problem with most Fox-haters, they don't actually watch Fox News. They've heard the left-wing interpretation of O'Reilly & Hannity, and assume all of Fox 24/7 is O'Reilly & Hannity.

And actually, ever since the Republican convention, I've been so disgusted with Stewart & Colbert and their Obama cheerleading, that I switched the channel over and started watching Fox News for the first time. And I realized two things, (1) Fox does not worship Republicans, and (2) Stewart & Colbert are bigger douchebags than I had ever thought...

Everyone likes to rip on Fox News, but all the polls, studies, independent reviews point towards Fox actually being the most balanced between the two parties. Sure the liberals here can question those results all they want - but ask yourself why there aren't polls, studies, or independent reviews pointing towards Fox being the most biased?
