Poll: Internet abbreviations and why some people use them...

There are plenty of internet abbreviations out there, but what annoys me are the abbreviations like "k" that really make me angry. Can someone, no wait, anyone really be that lazy to type "k" instead of "ok"

I find myself using abbreviations quite frequently, but i never have had to type "k" instead of "ok" Does it really save any time?

How many of you frequently use abbreviations for short works such as "k" for "ok" and "4" for "for"?
 
I think is saves time for those who don't know how to type. People are lazy and don't want to spend the time to figure out how to do it right. As for your "k" and "ok" example, I think it's more people just typing the way they would talk rather than to save time. Some people just say "k" rather than "ok".
 
If you use ten fingers to type, it's more easy to type 'normal' and a lot faster too.

People who use 'u' instead of 'you' need therapy, BTW.
 
I RARELY use abbreviations when i type in general. But once i start playing an online game like Half Life or UT, i automatically switch to pretty much ALL abbreviations... i guess every split second saved helps? 🙂

well, i use &quot;k&quot; sometimes but that's it....i actually SAY &quot;k&quot; though, so what's the big deal?

one that drives me up the wall is: &quot;NE1&quot;
everytime i hear it i want to hurt someone, and the person saying it looks like some useless AOLer.
