POLL: Instant Messaging Service & Region

I'm just curious about this... it seems like (at least around here in MI) that everyone uses AIM. I've seen the usage stats in terms of total downloads, so I'm thinking it's probably a regional thing.

If you use multiple services (multiple clients or Trillian/Miranda/etc), pick the one that most of your buddies are on. (if it's too close to call, then explain!)

EDIT: Interested in U.S. mainly- that's why I left out ICQ

North East, AIM.

not that I have any particular fondness for the program, but it's what all my friends use. even the best IM client would suck if there's no one to talk to with it 🙂

Yeah, totally

AIM is what america uses, MSN is what the rest of the world uses(RIP ICQ)

Besides the mass installation base of AIM in America, I acutally think MSN has a better interface. However I use trillian, trillian3's interface owns all other messengers combined, cause it is a messenger that combines all messengers.

MidWest.

Most of the folks around here use more than one (usually under Trillian or its cohort). A few years ago, ICQ was the only chat client that was used. Now, it's AIM, if you're only running one... otherwise, you have AIM & ICQ, and usually MSN and Yahoo too.

ICQ has the lead in Trillian for me. I refuse to vote since ICQ isn't represented. Otherwise, though, I also use MSN, AIM, and Yahoo.
