This is hot!!!

Ok I orded some of the famous memory from Staples.com and called today to make sure my PM would go through from last night it didn't. I tried again no so I called back I talked with Rachelle x 6822 and she called Crucial for the price match and would you believe I got to listen in!!! She gave him the IM # IM1415517 and would you believe it matched crucials # CT32M64S4D75.

Crucial Technology
32x64-7.5
256MB Synchronous
PC133 168pin 3.3V
133MHz Dimm

So staples is lieing to its customers that is so sad. Anyway I received the PM and ended up paying was $137.99 - 30 coupon - 49.60 price diff = $58.39
Now I'm happy and also ordered and she price matched that one too :)

Oh I also recieved free shipping and used the webpromo link. This is great oh and the 30.00 off coupon worked too!!!

The key is keep trying and do it during crucial's business hours

BTW you can PM up to 3 of the same items

Take the pole: How many of you have PM with Staples??

I've done this 3 times. Your description of the ram is correct. My third chip arrived today but I really had to fight for the PM this time. I never got the line about the ram being used - what they told me is that they won't PM a mfg. "because there's no middleman".

The ram has never come with a reciept and the invoice for the ram I ordered on the phone is not listed on the website in my history. The other two are, because I ordered them online but show a price of $137.99 ea. I have no idea how much they are really charging me for this and may have no recourse a month from now when I finally figure it all out.:frown:

Hmm, just to let you know, you didn't order the same RAM as the one listed in the Hot Deals page. The part # there is CT32M64S4D7E. Your part # is CT32M64S4D75. The RAM you bought is rated CAS3 as opposed to CAS2.

All you gotta do is call up your cc company and have them check the charge. If Staples charged ya for more than what you agreed, then they will have to lawfully give back the difference. You cc company will defintely help you in this case.

Folks: The bottom line here is that it's incredibly subjective. We keep getting all of these topics screaming "NEW UPDATE! STAPLES NO LONGER PRICE MATCHES CRUCIAL!" then breathless counter-posts, reporting, "HOT!!! STAPLES NOW PRICE MATCHES CRUCIAL!"

The point is: There IS no absolute 100% of the time policy. It's subjective. Just as EVERY price match you do with Staples is. They hate price matches, they rarely go out of their way to make it easy on you. That said, I've NEVER been denied a price match when I tried persistently. I've had some that have taken four or five tries with different reps. But in the end, so long as you're not trying to pull a fast one, it will generally go through eventually.

I think posts where people explain exactly how they price matched an item ARE in fact very helpful. But let's stop with the blanket statements about how Staples keeps changing its corporate policy from day to day. Most of those people don't even know what day it is, let alone the latest memo from "corporate." If the price match isn't working, try again.

I did the PM, $103
Then used the 30 off 100.

No probs really.

I ordered Mon morning, and received the memory today!!! (Wed)

So I was wondering,
Since they drop shipped from Crucial, and pricematched, I suppose I got the 2day Air from Crucial like I was one of their customers.

When I ordered, Staples said I would get it Mon (7 days later).

<But let's stop with the blanket statements about how Staples keeps changing its corporate policy from day to day>

The first CSR I talked to gave me that line and when I asked to talk with a supervisor they told me the same thing. But your right it just depend on the CSR you talk to.
