Yesterday, when I was leaving work, I was whistling a little tune from "The Simpsons". It's from the episode where Homer wins a ride on the Duff Blimp but he sells it to enter Lisa into a beauty pageant. Anyway, after he sells the blimp ticket, he sits at the kitchen table looking sad, and while holding a pickle in the air like a blimp he sings, Hey there, blimpy boy, flying in the sky so fancy free...
So I was walking to my car singing and whistling this tune (God knows why, we don't have any radios on in our offices and I haven't seen that episode of "The Simpsons" in months) and I get in my car and start it.
I had left the radio on the Oldies station (usually I don't) - and the song that was playing was The Seekers' "Georgy Girl"... which is the same song Homer had based his little tune on and that I was whistling when I got in the car! Whoa!
Singing a song that then comes on the radio happens to me all the time but I thought this was an especially unusual occurrence... there was no reason for me to be thinking of that song and I almost NEVER hear that song on the radio. Just thought I'd share the weirdness.
