Poll: If you're broke and only have, say, a dollar, do you buy cheap food or a drink?

I had that problem tonight, and I bought a drink...in fact many of them. I used my credit card.

I'd buy a drink first since water is more essential in the shortrun than food. I think you could probably get free water with a burger at most fast food places though, or they might only charge 10 cents for water.

and i have heard of a water fountain so i would be tempted to buy food because it would be easier to get water, like a public bathoom sink, water fountain, most food places give free water. hmm...kets hope i never have to choose.

With one dollar, I'd buy the following

1 pack Ramen Noodles-----------------($0.15)
1 mini bag of Funyuns----------------------($0.30)
1 string cheese (kroger brand)-----------($0.20)
TAX--------------------------------------------($0.06)
TOTAL-------------------------------------------$0.71

Then I would go to the Big K machine outside and get a drink for $0.25.

I still have $0.04 left. Too bad they don't sell penny gum anymore :)

That depends on how long I'd be broke for and whether I'd be hungry or thirsty at the time.

However, upon reading Dedpuhl's post, he's got it right on!:D
Man at university we were in Krogers constantly. They had awesome fresh made deli sandwiches.

I refuse to eat anything made, packaged, or touched by the deli workers in my store. I think you are better off not knowing why...

Yes, Dedpuhl, please keep the dirty secret to yourself because I ate quite a few of those things!
As long as they didn't use rat meat or make whoopie on the ingredients, I'm happy:D

I'd rather have a Big K Tropical splash over H20 anyday...
