*POLL* If you were going on a 30-day vacation would you leave your PCs running?

Thanks guys. I'll have to think it over. What I'll probably wind up doing is shutting down everything but the server, this way if I need to get to files, I can. Or maybe I'll just burn everything onto DVDs and take it all with me!! Hmm.

The router, VoIP equipment and outside servers and domain controller remain running. The workstations and local service servers would not (Unless I had my laptop and internet access, in which case the primary workstation and local service servers WOULD remain running, but secondary stations would be powered off)

I do have an internal server that I'd leave up and running but I really wouldn't have a good reason to leave my PC running unattended for that long a period of time. Most I'll typically leave it running unattended for is a week.

If the computer is doing something like folding, then that's enough reason to leave it. If it's going to be idling, then I'd turn it off. I wouldn't think that your PCs would burn down after a month 😛

It depends. If the vacation place has broadband internet access, then yes I would leave my PC on. I normally remote desktop to my home PC. Just need to free up like 200GB of HD space - enough space to download 24/7 for the month.
