Poll: If you had to kill animals yourself in order to eat meat

Yet another vote for too lazy.

If there was some PC BS in a future hippie-fascist state about "you must be willing to kill it to eat it" I'd be fine with taking my turn putting a bullet or sledgehammer to mr. cow at the dirty hippie commune slaughterhouse.

ditto. to those who say you'd eat more meat, are you really prepared to spend tons of time hunting down animals, slaughtering them, preparing, cleaning etc etc?! you'd spend all day preparing food.

BS. March or April, you kill one cow, spend 2 days carving it up and packing the deep freezer. Bam, steaks for a whole year.
Fish here and there during the summer, bag the occasional squirrel and rabbit, and you've got plenty of variety until fall.

When hunting season comes around, you get one deer, a couple of turkeys, and whatever else is indigenous to your region. Pack all that into that deep freezer with what's left of the beef and you're hooked up until spring again!

If you live in the country, you'd suppliment your diet with chickens and eggs the year round as well.

I would probably not eat much pork anymore, except for the occasional pig roast around the campfire with all my buddies.

Put it all on a level playing field and say I also had to milk my own cows, churn my own butter, grown my own tomatoes, etc.

Then...yes, I'd kill my own animals for meat and I'd eat it.

*sigh* no Alaskan king crab legs for me anymore...

Let's see... I already eat lots of venison.
And, I eat lots of fish. Caught 9 nice sized bass with my son tonight. (All catch and release though... this time)
And, I can go out into the backyard and get a fresh turkey anytime I want..
Ditto for fresh chicken.
Ditto for fresh rabbit.
I'm getting tired of eggs.
Pig goes to the butcher sometime soon... however, I'd have no problem doing it myself if it came to that.
Starting in the fall, I can have all the squirrels I want for dinner... (MMMMmmmmm)

And, once my fencing is up, I'll start raising a couple cattle for beef.

Soooo... I'd end up eating more meat.

Traditional hunting sounds like such a pain - I'd probably try to get away with the illegal ways (fishing via dynamite, hunting via jacklight, etc.).

How to hunt like a redneck: Shine, shoot, and run 😛
