I mean a tape where Trump uses the word referring to a black man as a pejorative. Something that can't be spun as him repeating a joke. Personally I think the tape exists and its a matter of time before its release.

Insufficient options: his core supporters won't abandon him and some of the others will like him for his proven racism.

Never voted for him to begin with.

Though to be honest, I probably wouldn't really care - just as you democrats don't seem to mind when past democrats freely mentioned the word as well.

You know, like the one who said

I'll have them ni**ers voting Democratic for two hundred years.

You have to go back >50 years to defend Trump?? LBJ was a functioning racist who signed the 64 Civil Rights Act and the 65 Voting Rights Act. If Trump had done anything to benefit black people he would have something but he's done nothing but call them names. As an example after Charlottesville the bar was set pretty fucking low and that asshole couldn't even step over it.

What's you next line of defense bring up the dead guy Robert Byrd??

And no I don't expect people like you to care that this country after electing the first black President elected an openly racist one.

Johnson didn't just sign those bills. He worked tirelessly for their passage. Actions speak louder than words, always.

Ding ding. And he also famously stated it would lose the South for Democrats for generations. He knew those racist Dixiecrats would flock to Republicans and yet he did it anyway.

His radical base won’t care as they probably use that weed themselves. They’d love Michael even more most likely.

What ifs. What if there's an N tape. What if there's a P tape. What if P=NP.

They'd hurt, but not much. I think Trump is near his floor.

Female Republicans defended Trump after "grab um by the pussy" so we know they do not care as long as they are in power.

He’s probably shore up the base and pick up a percentage of hardcore racists who think Strongman Trump isn’t really a racist.

It wouldn’t hurt him with the people who’d vote for him in 2020, because Strongman Trump is who they want to be.

A lot of the Trumpie-people will say they're not racist to your face, and even believe it themselves. But -- they really are. They like to use the N----- word in an all-white comfort zone of people who also like to use the N word casually.

I even have an acquaintance who didn't vote for Trump, but he's got this white-identity infection in his brain. I was helping him recycle some large TV sets, and as we were driving back to his house, he began rambling in his speech with several N-word instances. I told him to stop. What he doesn't know is this: Next time he does that in my car, I'll stop there right on the freeway shoulder and throw him out of the car, leaving him to walk to the next off-ramp.

I don't care even if Trumpies are a majority. They're wrong, and if I encounter any of them over the next 20 years, I'm going to do my best to ruin their day.

It absolutely won't get his base to abandon him. They either don't care or if anything will be mad he's not openly spouting it more often.

I actually think it'll get some of the Republicans that claim to have given up on him (or claim to have never supported him) to be sympathetic (probably because they can relate to saying something incredibly fucked up and getting called on it, and they feel bad - for having been called out on it - so they'd be able to relate to what he'd go through).

I would not be surprised if we see something like end of that episode of South Park.

People often mention the EPA thing, sometimes mention ending the draft, they don't often mention Title IX, his work on desegregation, lowering the voting age, wanting to implement something like the ACA, affirmative action, or trying to implement guaranteed income. I'm sure plenty of that he doesn't deserve much real credit for, and likely it was more him wanting to be the one to get credit as he thought it would be an inevitability (like he felt about the EPA), but still.
