This is a current "Quick Vote" question on CNN.com. So far, after 168,857 votes, 83% have voted "YES".

I'm wondering what the sentiment on ATOT is. Also, this thread is in light of this story: CNN: Bin Laden Surrounded in Cave

Edit: Fox says that the Pentagon does NOT have bin Laden surrounded in "some cave in Tora Bora". Fox is reporting that the Pentagon says that bin Laden may have been spotted in a valley south of Tora Bora amongst some heavy fighting.

torture.

by executing him, he may look like a martyr to all those kids in the middle east who rejoiced and cheered right after the tragedy at 9.11.

but i forgot my definition of a martyr so im not sure if that would apply.

Heheheheh...I think each one of the families of the victims should get to punch him in the face and kick him in the balls before they throw him into a 8x8 cell for the rest of his life, giving him nothing but bread and water.

No books, no TV, soundproof.

Boredom is the worst torture.

Or how about boredom including some form of medieval torture? ... Considering what the families of WTC victims have gone through, OBL needs some serious kicking in the nuts.

I'd normally think he should get a fair trial...but if brought to trial in the US, all of his money and the support he has in the Muslim populace would make for a very *un*fair trial

Regarding a fair trial, wouldn't he stand before a military tribunal though? There was a lot of dispute over whether he would get tried in a tribunal or in a normal courtroom a week ago.

I was thinking more along the lines of some sandpaper, rubbing, and then lemon juice, but I like the 3 million people kicking idea too!

I voted no. There is no way he can be tortured, you have to follow the rules. Death penalty is too easy. If he is put in prison for life, he will be treated well by the inmates;)

<< Yes, fry! >>

His execution should be publicly displayed on TV. The government should sell tickets.

All proceeds will go to help aid the families of those who lost their lives in the tragedy. So buy now, tickets are going fast

If he dies he becomes a martyr and only does more damage, like Obi-one or whatever his name is in star wars when he dies.

Bin Laden should be captured, have a sex change and then be let loose again after making it all very public in his country, maybe put some sort of tracking chip in him (lol, i dunno), but that way he would be humiliated and would never be respected again by anyone in the islamic world (no offense to anyone).

that would be me?
Why kill him?
What will that serve?
Let him rot his ass off in prison...

EDIT:
or maybe something else will take his ass off

If capture alive he should be tried and then executed. The crime he commited is far too great for him to be allowed to live. And besides, if he was imprisoned a bunch of his buddies would just hijack a plane or something and demand his release. Better to just kill the fvck and move on the the rest of them.

Hah, Muerto, you are true to your AT handle!

It seems like it would be a much greater punishment if we keep him alive and let him to rot in prison, or to be subjected to some kind of torture.

But, like Muerto said, if we hold him here alive for very long, it's likely that a lot of wacko terrorists will emerge from the woodwork demanding OBL's release.

How many of you think we'll actually capture him alive?

Me too, jacko.
Guess what? OBL would RATHER die than live in the hands of his worst enemy. Death makes him a martyr and a hero. Do you want to bestow such an honor upon him?

I'd rather keep him alive. Indefintely. Forced to shave his body, pray with his back to Mecca, eat pig sh!t and have his eyes held open a la Clockwork Orange as he is forced to watch pr0n and reruns of evil American TV. Weekly allow him to be beaten publicly by anyone who so desires to the point where he is near death, and then revive him and keep him alive another week to beat him back the brink once again.

But if you would rather him be glorified in death......well now who gets a :|
