Now that we are in the last week, it's time to take a straw poll. I am anxious to see what other gems Richard Christy will come up with - my sides are hurting from his Gary, Robin, and KC montages.

EDIT: Voting is underway - go to Trimspa.com.

Dammit...I accidentally voted for John the Stutterer instead of Sal the Stockbroker.

I think Sal was the best overall contestent. The others have had their strengths, but I think he was the best overall.

Yeah, I was wondering why anyone would have voted for John the Stutterer.

I have always found Sal annoying, but there's no question he put on a hell of a week, by far the most impressive to date. That said, I have always found Richard Christy's KC and Baba Booey songs just side-splitting; hell, the Def Leppard ones alone ("Shove a Gerbil in Me" and "G@y Photographs") are enough for him to be a strong competitor. I think he is quite a bit wittier than Sal, and at this point I am leaning toward voting for RC unless he really stinks up the rest of the week. I also nearly fell out of my chair this morning laughing at his "Between Brown Thighs."

How the hell is John the Stutterer winning this poll? He has already said he doesn't want to win, and he doesn't have a witty bone in his body. He's funny sometimes, but would you really want thim to win?

I have to admit that his songs are hilarious. It just finished airing here on the west coast and I was dying, but doing the job well takes more than some good song parodies. He does those anyway and doesn't work for them.

You put him first, so many of us are tempted to click the first option in a poll. (I just clicked view results and will now back ouf the thread, since I'm not a HS listener). :D

I am a diehard Stern fan, and IMO his songs are up there with the very funniest bits I have ever heard on the show. It was nice to hear him branching out from KC with those brilliant Robin songs (esp. "Between Brown Thighs").

It was good to hear KC back this morning. I wonder what was going on with him - I could imagine him having some kind of mental breakdown. I have always liked the guy, and his interactions with RC should be interesting.

I was a little surprised to hear Howard openly say this morning that he would hire RC if not for the contest - I don't remember him so clearly supporting any of the other candidates. I think they are also trying to set him apart for the voters by having him on last.

Bump because the competitors are done and the formal voting will start shortly.

That moron Chaunce not only wrote Howard and called in this morning, he has been posting on the HS fan NG about Richard Christy. Talk about sour grapes . . .

I still like him best of all the candidates, but it's hard to argue Sal had the best week.

His Wack Packer was definintely lame.

His game, "What Would Tom Approve?", was funny. He approached Tom C with a bunch of outlandish ideas (one, for example, was to bring in several gay men and shoot vanilla pudding out of a squirt bottle to see who could catch the most in his mouth), and asked whether he would approve them. The game was great, and he made an awesome theme song (the Jeopardy theme with Tom laughs selectively inserted).

His celebrity interview was with the photographer's assistant for the German photographer who took modeling pics of KC. The questions were pretty funny ("Were there any females at the shoot for KC to ignore?").

I like him because he seems like a really talented, funny guy, and a breath of fresh air. Sal would definitely be a more direct fill for John, in that he would instantly be bickering with Gary, but IMO Richard Christy is a much cleverer guy, as witnessed by his awesome song parodies and voice mails. My favorite new one this week was "I Guess That's Why KC Loves Man Goo," sung to the tune of "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues":

Well, I guess that's why KC loves man goo;
Hairy man ass is something he can't refuse;
Tickling their regions;
Kissing beefy Norwegians;
On his knees pleasin';
Well, I guess that's why KC loves man goo . . .

Yeah its gotta be Sal or RC...dunno who I would vote for, wish I had heard the game for RC, it sounds really good.

it would be better if howard could now put all the clips the contests did up on his site...but we know that will never happen

I'll be interested how it turns out. As long as RC or Sal win I can't really complain. I would really be pissed if Chaunce or Cabbie won, and blase about any of the others. Yucko would get annoying fast, though I do think he's funny.

I'm a little wary of being misled by Sal's very strong week. In general he has always seemed pretty witless to me, and most of his elaborate efforts to mock Gary ever the years have fallen flat ("the lighting of the teeth," as one example). His Wack Packers were great, but I don't necessarily see that as indicative of his own wit and skill. He definitely put on a hell of a week, though.

Yucko is my personal favorite. Sal I never cared for, although he did have a solid week.

John the Stutterer should not win. Yes he is funny, and it is coincidence that he has the same name and disability at Stuttering John, but he has already said he doesn't want the job. Give it to someone who will work hard...

Hands down it should go to Cabby.

The show already has one comedian with Arty, now they just need a loose cannon. Someone who's guaranteed to screw up a lot and do some incredibly insane things just for the hell of it. Who's better for that slot than Cabby. Besides his voice is cool.
