From what I read, each president gets to pick items from museums the want in the White House when living there. At the end of their term they return em. And Biden will also get to pick some items to bring in.

They're items offered for display by various people & entities that go home at the end of a particular presidency. There are also personal items admin figures brought in themselves.

He'll be in Scotland by Tuesday. Hopefully to never return.

lol, Scotland already said he isn't invited--it's actual covid protocol and there is literally no way that he can force that country to let him land there.

No, he won't be in Scotland.

This. that was my first assumption here--it's why Trump has had Andrew Jackson portrait in the Oval office--the most bigoted, genocidal president until Trump. His idol and Bannon's from the beginning (Bannon suggest Jackson and ran a Jacksonian strategy to get him elected).

Anyway, it's the same for all presidents, so far. Each piece is owned by the US (via the Smithsonian), and they all have assigned curators--yes, it's an actual team of people within the Smithsonian that curates the "presidential loan system." It's just how things are done. Until we are shown that these aren't the official curators taking the pieces back into the collection where they belong, this is just reactionary.

Has anyone thought of this...? At some point Donald Trump is going to cry. So far he has been stubborn and more concerned with ego and getting even, and acting very pissed, but at some point Donald Trump will break down and sob. Probably with a lot of sobbing. We will never see it nor will his family, but Melania will know... Melania will hear the sobbing, the sniffling, all the sounds one makes when crying. At some point reality will hit home, probably Wednesday night in bed at Mar A Lago, Donald Trump will suddenly realize that he will never sleep in the Whitehouse ever again, and will never again travel around the world meeting with kings, queens, and dignitaries. Never again will Donald Trump be president and he will realize that come next Wednesday night when all is quiet and everyone else are asleep. Melania will awaken around 2 am to the sounds of Donald Trump sobbing, crying, sniffing. Kinda sad actually, sad and more so.... rather pathetic. If there were hidden video and or audio of this, it might bring a tear to the eyes of even Nancy Pelosi. Donald Trump is going to cry, and does anyone even care? ;)

I don’t know, I think my prediction is coming true so far.

I said he’ll leave as a loser and I think by whatever metric you want to rate him on, he’s a loser.

He obviously lost the presidency.
His brand is destroyed.
His approval rating has cratered.
He’s been impeached twice.
He’s lost control of the senate.
His unemployment numbers are huge!
He’s killed almost 400k people.
The capital was seized under his watch.

With that kind of winning you’d swear his reality TV show was called the “biggest loser” because he’s perfected the art of losing.

The Capitol was seized! If I have to keep remembering your eccentric US-spelling, I don't see why you shouldn't have to!

Though he may have lost a lot of his capital as well. Depending on how much he's fleeced his cult for with all the 'stop the steal' fund-raising malarky.

Though my prediction seems off - doesn't seem much sign of him quitting before being forcibly-escorted out. I still wonder how, physically and practically, he'll leave. Will there be a public walk of shame, or will he scurry out when nobody's looking?

Not getting the parade he doesn't deserve is karma bitch slapping his arrogant pouty face with some cold hard reality.

He could get his well armed insurrectionist militias gathered up in circular firing squad formation with Trump in the middle in that chin jutting Mussolini pose he likes to strike and have a 21 BB gun salute that's more than commensurate with his accomplishments.

How he will leave is described in some detail here.

He's going to live at mara-lago in south Florida where he has a lot of supporters.

He's clearly not welcome in New York any more.

I suspect leaving the country is something he will not do unless or until he is facing arrest.
Maybe its been cleared up since this, but there was some question about whether he's allowed to live full time at mara-lago.

What's also interesting regarding that potential residence issue is he registered to vote in Florida at that address.
