I think i'm pretty strong. Just did pushups with my GF on top of my back, she weighs around 100lbs. Too bad my belly doesnt reflect my strength 😉

Edit: Change title.

Impressive, you manged to combine a bragging thread and an "I have a girlfriend" thread in one post.
::thumbs up::😉

She was on your back? Was it her turn to be the butch tonight? :Q

What would be impressive, do pushups with your girl on your back without useing your arms or legs 😉

Strength is measured by more than your ability to lift a bar with your tricepts and pects.

but you couldnt deny that bench press is one way to measure human strength although it's may not be the most accurate.

Bench pressing is one way to measure how much you can bench press, yes. But there's more to strength then arm strength. I can't bench press beans but pressure pad testing at my martial arts school has me rated in the top three with just over 620ppi with a step-behind side kick.

😎

<edit>

I just realized that this was before I learned the flying side kick. I wonder what that kind of ppi deals out 😀 😀

Ditto.

And its all relative. If you bench a lot you are going to be good at that. If you don't squat you won't squat much. I squat a lot and am very good at it. I do O-lifts and am the best in my county in my class.

Also its all relative. A bigger guy will naturally be able to do more. A smaller guy 70kg does 150kg that is an AMAZING feet. A 100kg does 150kg thats good but NO WHERE NEAR in the same strength relative to weight. Hardly anyone you will meet will be able to hit 2x body weight bench. That is CRAZY.

Another note

Strong, I bench press >125lbs

THAT IS NOT STRONG. If you weigh about 80lbs then yeah thats strong. But 125lbs is weak unless its about your body weight. Thats midly strong I would say.

1.5x your body weight is considered strong.

This guy might be able to. 😉

Right, because the bench press is the be-all and end-all of measuring strength.

Taekwondo. And, no, you won't fight me some time. I'll run like a fvcking pussy with both arms flailing above my had screaming before I fight. Well, that is, unless you seriously piss me off. Then you're fvcked.

lol yeah I actually chuckled to myself this time. Just ran my cursor over the link and looked at it and laughed. Only because I saw that link in the other thread.......

1.5x your body weight is the *goal* to aim for in bench pressing.
1x military press
2x squat (I'm hitting 2x but want almost 3x by end of next xmas so in 2004)

All relative. You won't find many fast guys at 220lbs or they definately won't be as quick as the smaller 160lb guys. Just depends what you want to do and achieve.......
