Would buying a Radeon based card now be a stupid move? I currently have a Voodoo3 2000 AGP (overclocked to 175MHz) and it runs everything I have at 1024 quite well (ST: Elite Force, No One Lives Forever, American McGee's Alice, Project IGI, etc), but I just got Giants and my beloved card has fallen to its knees. My fps have dropped to around 5-10fps on high action scenes.

I know that Win2k performance isn't quite upto Win9x snuff, but that doesn't really bother me. I am leaning toward the Radeon versus GeForce because IMO the image quality is better.

I was thinking about waiting for the Radeon VE for the dual monitor capability, but it seems it is going to be a business oriented card.

Whadya guys think?

The new WIN2K drivers are within 10% of the 9X ones. Up to you but with the performance from the new drivers it would probably be a good move.

I just got the Radeon couple days ago just because over a Rage3D mention that the Beta W2K driver is getting better. And I haven't regret it one bit. UT feels so danm smooth.
