We have tree ring evidence, rock deposit evidence, radioactivity evidence, moon rock evidence, fossil evidence, Earth core temperature evidence, glacier evidence, etc all showing idependantly that it is well over 50k.

Definately less than 50,000.

Ya. God just made rocks that were already billions of years old. If he is God why not just create a rock that happens to be
1 Billion years old. Create some old Trees, make alot of evidence that we could find and think its been longer than it is.
Placed a few dead bodys that were already a few hundred thousands years old. Ya the perfect frame, make us look like fools.

On second thought its probably been alittle longer than 50,000, plus or minus a billion years or so.

Yes. Keep the cheap shots on religion coming people!

It happens in every thread, whether religious or not. Seriously, get over it.

That's just God testing our faith! I think the earth is about 500 years old.

If I recall correctly, my astronomy teacher told us last semester that the earth is approximately the same age as the sun, so it's a little over 4 billion years old.

I believe 4.6 billion is the real number, but again it's just God testing us!!!

Something like that. It's between 4 and 5 billion, that's all I can remember for sure without digging around for my astronomy book and finding out.

I was on a cave tour once, the guide made some comment about the age of the rocks being some X million years. Some lady in the crowd pipes up that the guide should "stop her athiest propaganda because the bible tells us the earth is only 5000 years old." Dead silence followed by some muffled snickering.

The earth is at least 21 years old. That's about all I can say. Who knows if it really existed before I was born.
