Let's just assume you're in your early-mid twenties. If you met a girl who was 5 years older than you, how much would you take that into consideration when thinking about starting a relationship with them? What about 10 years older?

I guess the same could be applied to any of you girls on ATOT: how much younger does a guy have to be before it starts getting "weird"...

5-6 for me. I think it'll be considered weird, but I won't think its weird if we're already in a relationship and its doing good.

I could see dating someone 25... so I guess my threshold is the 7-9 years. Going the opposite way, no one under 17, so that would be two years, but that's because high schoolers are just so plain idiotic. If I were a few years older, the range would stretch down more.

Well I'm 21 and my girlfriend is 33.... it's weird sometimes, but I get over it. There are definite advantages to having an "more experienced" woman, if you know what I mean.... :)

Just a little unasked for advice here. A man should marry a woman at least as old as himself and a little older does not hurt. Look into the future and you will see that when it becomes time for retirement and you have to work another 4 or 5 years because your wife is not old enough is the pitts.

I'm 24 now. If I wasn't married, although it does in great part depend on the girl obviously, if somebody was 28 it wouldn't give me pause at all. 29-30 I'd probably set as a basic ceiling. Any older than that is severely pushing it.

it is never weird after the youngest of the two is over the hill or 30 years old , whichever is lower

How much older does a girl have to be for it to be considered "weird"?

I'd say maximum -3 years. I'm 23 now and I can't imagine dating a girl older than 20, really.

I'm not a guy. However, I can answer your question from my point of view. I have no problem if my significant other is younger than I, but anything more than 5 years starts to bug me. Funny that I had no problem with some guys 11-12 years older than I! The good thing is that they always looked a lot younger than their ages. :Q Before, I preferred older guys, but not more than 7 years older. Now I prefer someone who's my age or not more than 5 years younger. :D

You're always too funny with your responses, Hammer09. LOL! :D

Booster, aren't you the one who said you couldn't even find friends not to speak of women/girls? So, how could you make such requirement when you couldn't even go past level one. Now I get it. You must think that those young girls will be the only ones to appreciate you, despite your shortcoming or date you out of sympathy. :Q LOL!

Oh my God! You have me screaming, Jugernot! LOL! It's all good though, since women have a longer life span than men do. She gets to enjoy more of you if you don't mind your woman being so wrinkled earlier than you. Just be sure that she's not a control freak . . . but then again, you might like control freaks. :Q

I'm not saying such a younger-than-me girl will 'appreciate' me, because I know she wouldn't. It's just my personal preference. And I don't have any shortcomings, at least those visible.

Well, I've dated and had brief relationships with women as much as 20 years older than me and girls as much as 15 years younger than me. But for a long-term relationship I always looked for women about 0 to 5 years younger than me. My wife falls into that category; she's 5 years younger than me.

All right, Booster. I was just teasing you. Nothing wrong with setting a standard, even if unrealistic. I too have my standards set and will never settle for less. I learned a lot when I tried to bend my standards, but I'm never going to do it again.

If 3 years or more younger works for you, so be it, for as long as you're in compliance with laws and statutes. :Q :D

I'm somewhat age oblivious, although when I was single I would have probably *said* +/- 5. I've dated (but not with intention of long-tem) a variety of both older and younger guys. When I got serious, I married a man quirte a bit older. The funny thing is -- while I was getting to know him -- I always thought he was around my age (He still looks great). So maybe if O had known, that would have made me more cautious, and I would have missed out on discovering him. I had to think really hard about it, not because of personality or maturity match, but because if we were both to live average lifespans... well, you get the idea.

Damn! LOL! I can't tell you what exactly I meant. It's cryptic. But I did know that you would perceive it that way. Just know that it has everything to do with my legalistic nature. Perhaps it's no big deal really. Nothing meant really. . . . :Q I'm glad I made you laugh. It's always a pleasure to see people laugh in good spirit. ;) :D

You know, I said I liked girls a few years younger than me, but it's not that I really like them so much, not to the degree of obstinacy, it's just b/c most of the girls of my age I've seen lately, are already married, engaged or something.
