Did you do an LSX swap into the Miata for this? I was thinking of doing one with an 350-400 HP engine, but I'm worried if it rolls whether a roll bar can hold it up as a daily driver with no helmet :(

P.S. Kudos to those who honestly reply with the slow cars, 2005 Corolla here :) When I saw the post I was afraid it would be your conventional dick-measuring contest on forums, I'm impressed.

It's not a Miata. It's lighter than a Miata. Think little more exotic. :)

Edit, I voted 400+

A 4th generation Camaro Z28 V8 has around 275bhp. How do you figure 400+?

I would imagine that it does not remain in stock form.

;)

I know that, I'm asking him how he got that amount of it. :)

A Dyno. ;) It had to be tuned after the mods. The graph is posted around here somewhere.

A 98-2002 4th gen Fbody (which is what he has) will make about 350bhp, and 300rwhp in stock form. Adding an intake/exhaust/heads/cam package can produce up to 500RWHP on the stock 346CI bottom end after tuning. Generally H/C cars make from 420-470rwhp, which is far in excess of 500Bhp.

I'm pretty sure he's running a cammed car, not sure if Gill has modified the heads on his ride. It's not uncommon for cam only cars to break 400RWHP.

Bingo! No head work done yet, mine Dynoed 399RWHP before I added a few more parts. :D Haven't had it strapped back down yet. Sadly, it's been parked since I relocated across state and took a move with the company. Haven't put but maybe 30 miles on it in the past couple years.

You, sir, should be arrested. That is a ****ing crime!

What do you run in the 1/4?

Now? Haha, probably a sad, sad 14 seconds. I need new tires BADLY. 265mm DOT-R semi-slick tires are heat cycled out, and it can smoke them all the way up into 5th gear now. It really bites, but honestly, I need to save up the pennies for wider Dymag wheels and 315-335mm rears.

98 Mazda Protege LX, all the glory and "speed" off of 1.5L I4. Factory HP rating of ~89HP... No idea how much it has degraded to now. The 5-speed is a necessity, not an option.

65hp, but it's between my legs not under the hood.:D

For a boring, comfortable, appliance of a bike, I can't complain with a 12.5 quarter mile and 60 mpg fwy.

This, though I have the mazdaspeed CAI and exhaust so supposedly a bit more than stock but no dyno so I can't prove it.

396 hp/362 tq 1998 Camaro Z28 (mild cam, heads, intake, exhaust mods). The car is a blast to drive, esp. getting on the freeways.

Do you mind explaining to me what you're talking about? I'm a gearhead, but I'm not exactly hardcore about it.

I don't know about you, but for me not being able to enjoy a 400whp car for 2 years would be torture. It was meant to be a facetious comment on him not driving his badass car...

I don't. Family comes before a toy.

It is torcher but playing with my daughter and keeping her fed is more important than my enjoyment. I plan on taking it out in the spring/summer '09 if the economy holds out and I remain employed.

I had a feeling that was it, but my curiosity made me ask in case. :p ;)
