you mean "all out, thousands of dead" war?
or
"boarder dispute continues, a few killed now and then" war?

this is a test of these two nations and the responsibility that comes to bear having nuclear weapons. India is democratic, Pakistan is somewhat democratic, but Pakistan is not nearly as backwards as other muslim countries(afghanistan etc). This is why this country needs to be gravely concerned about countries like Iraq and Iran getting nuclear weapons. If Pakistan and India prove to the world they cannot control the use of these weapons, we better make damn sure that Iran and Iraq have ZERO capability to use these weapons..forcibly destroyed by all means necessary. Iran can already hit Israel, but so long as they can't reach the US I don't much care. Experts say by 2015 though they will have the missile technology to reach the US.
I fear that it is quite the opposite. They know exactly what these weapons will do. :QOriginally posted by: MSNY
Twelve million is the estimate I heard on Fox News and ABC News today.
The fanatics on both sides have NO IDEA what these weapons are capable of. I think the Japanese need to get involved and spell it out for them.

rickn: Do you think it is a little hypocritical to go into another country and take away their weapons, since we have been the only country to have even used nuclear weapons?
Good point(s). I love it when either one of the leaders say something, like a week or two ago when the Indian PM went to visit troops on the Line of Control, he told them to be ready for decisive action. Two days later at a press conference, he is like, 'that, oh, I didn't mean to say THAT". They something real harsh and when they see the other side reacts to it by either building up troops or say something even more ruthless, they step back. Seems like a game of cat and mouse.Originally posted by: rudder
maybe it is hypocritical, but at least the U.S. has some checks and balances. Our military cannot just fire a nuke off. In Pakistan, today Musharaff has the nukes, tomorrow the Taliban could overthrow him and they would have them. There is no control of them. Especially when you hear the leaders of the two countries spouting that they will use them when the time comes.
The UN has maintained a presence in the disputed area since 1949.Originally posted by: XZeroII
I wonder where the UN is. Don't they usually stick their noses into stuff like this? I never see them do anything productive.
Nice to see the US really cares about whts going on over there.CONTRIBUTORS OF MILITARY PERSONNEL

There will be a war, lets all pray that it does not involve nukes though.
