If you say you weren't stealing music I think 99% of you are bloody liars :) Do I think it was legal to shut them down. No I think them serving as an intermediary makes them legal. Do you shutdown top # warez sites because they link to warez?

No, it isn't legal. But I like it, and I use it. :)

...though I liked Scour MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better than Napster... :(:|

the napster model is still in an early form. the entertainment
industry will find a way to harness or salvage some economic
benefit from the file sharing protocol. bertelsman has already
reached agreement with napster lawyer's to establish a monthly
fee for access to their server networks. that arrangement should
be in place by summer. even the circuit and federal courts
in their recent decisions conceded the futility of trying
to corral a file sharing protocol that can be reproduced
and spread among millions of people the world over.

I use it to look for stuff that is out of print or remixes of stuff that I have never seen.

i think copyrights are like artificial laws... as opposed to "natural" laws like right to free speech and stuff. so i use napster to get songs for free. so sue me you filthy animals! haha

another deep thought, brought to you courtesy of DiRF!

I use it. I don't really think I am hurting any artists by doing so though because I only download stuff that I wouldn't end up buying on CD anyway.
