Kind of an odd poll. I don't care if people use macs or unix. Microsoft is enough of a monopoly is it is.
They can use the competition. In my opinion Linux is far better than windows for power and stability. Problem is I'm a gamer at heart and games made today are mostly made for the windows platform. Not all that many games are ported to Linux or macs. Windows is not a better OS over unix, it's just more supported.

I started out on an Apple IIc in the early - mid 80's and then went to mac when it was introduced. (parents were teachers and I got apples cheap) I switched over in the early 90's to a PC with win3.1 (though I had dabbled in DOS before) and never went back. Now I am running XP, but my Dad has an iMAC classic - the bondi blue one, I installed OS X on it, and I have to admit OS X is pretty nice. If it were ported to the PC I would use it as duel boot.

At home, I have 2 XP machines, 1 OpenBSD, and 2 OS 9 Macs.

At work, I have an OSX Mac, a Sparcstation 4, and an SGI O2.

used to be at xp, switched back to 2k. lots of teachers n ppl at school use macs. they always insist macs are much better wtf?! our middle school's computer teacher doesnt know ANYTHING either -_-

i use lotsa windows, quite a bit of linux and some mac. MACs are by far the best machines for my creative work (graphics / webdesign), windows is awesome for games (just built me p4 machine) and day to day stuff and i cant live without linux on my servers.

Me too!


Mac is fine for locked in a closet computing life. I suddenly needed a Windows system when my computing went to the internet, with friends, hardwares from vendors and sharing files with people.


I made this switch back when Macintosh's were 100% SCSI. Today's Mac's are becoming similar to IBM machine.

My Mac(8600/350 and 7600/120.. something like that) has proprietary keyboard port, serial printer/modem ports, proprietary SCSI connector and it was lucky enough to have PCI slots.

Little gadgety that connects to computer woudln't work, because there was no software for Macs. Most expansion cards won't work. Most aftermarket mouse/keyboard caused problems. Softwares were bloody hard to find. No I'm not happy with just having Quake and Photoshop.
