I figured, why not - let's see where everybody is heading with this. The stock market only posted one gainer in the past week, and dropped more than 10% so far from previous levels. Now, mind you, I figured it would go down for a while anyway, but not as fast.

Is everybody panicing?

My dad's thoughts 3 months ago: The market is over-inflated. Prices/values are about 100% above where they should be. (He was saying the market should actually be around the 4000-6000 level).

My thoughts: Well, 6000 might be a little extreme. 7000-8000 wouldn't be half bad. Frankly, I feel that the market is about near to turn around, probably within the next 3 months or so. At the very least, it should level out. Perhaps it is time to buy?

Anyways, what do you all think?

Poll fail.

Oh and no I'm not confident, but I have no way of knowing when the fed will run out of ink either. The whole ponzi could blow up this year, or maybe the southern euros will string up their bankers and politicians and the US will get its act together. Or maybe there will be a real war. IDK; but this won't end well for most people.

The stock market is doing just fine, and will continue to perform strongly for the next 3-5 years most likely.

The economy as a whole is still in a deep deep hole. It looks like it may be slowly climbing out, but, it's hard to say. Median earned incomes are down, and unemployment is falling too slowly. International competition with cheap labor countries continues to kill us.
