This poll is based on the false premise that Trump will win the election. He may or may not. If he does, I have no idea what the answer to the question is. He's going to have to go through Congress to get funding for it. That process is far from automatic and it can consume time even if ultimately successful.
 
A wall can be tunneled under for a fraction of the cost of the wall itself (just look at elchapo getting out of jail) and most of the people who are illegal here got here not by walking across but arriving on a plane with a valid visa like student or h1b or tourist and overstaying.

The border is as secure as can be. If you want more security.. stop giving out visas but of course no one will ever listen to logic.
 
Mexico already said it's not going to pay one cent for the wall.

So no matter if Trump is elected, the wall will never be built since he insists that Mexico should pay for it.

I've seen the design. The trench where the footing is poured goes all the way down to hell.

Maybe it won't be a physical wall at all, but one that removes all the reasons they come here. Maybe that is Trump's firewall. What if we have strict enforcement of E-verify, as an example? What if we actually started enforcing our laws. What if we made it very expensive for employers to violate the laws?

I could almost support the wall idea if it means that the f'in Border Patrol gets its ass back to the border, shuts down its fascist-as-all-f' check points, and stops harassing Americans. If the wall goes in, we need a companion law restricting BP's authority to, say, within 50ft of the border. Might be worth it then.

Whatever walkers there are we want to stop. Remember this will be a Trump wall. I picture minimum 20 feet high, 12 feet wide and populated with personnel at Milecastles and garrisons.

My guess on Trump's wall: billboards encouraging people to invest it in go up all over America, people send in their money, and then the developers pull out with no wall being built.

Since Trump said he is worth $10 billion and the cost of the wall is $8 billion by his own calculation,

he can personally funds the great wall if the Congress or Mexico won't pay for it if he ever elected as POTUS.
