We all know that as a relationship goes on the frequency of sex tends to decrease. At what point is a person justified having an affair in order to scratch their itch?

Never, if sex is so infrequent that you need to get it elsewhere, you're with the wrong person. Divorce them, dump them, but move on. Why stay?

Never, though I'd say for someone under 40, less than 3 times per week isn't healthy.

Hey, this was not meant as an excuse to have an affair. It was just a human studies question. A bunch of us were talking about marriages that ended in divorce due to cheating and I thought I throw the question out to ATFOT.

Whoa, ATFOT is WAY cooler than ATOT.

Wrong. Sex does not constitute the whole of a relationship. Neither does it constitute a major part of it.

Ah, I'll play Bad Baba Black Sheep.

They have a saying down in Texas: "If you don't want the dog to jump the fence, you better make sure the dog is happy!"

I agree. If I piss off my SO, and "the bed is too big" for a few days, that's expected and I can live w/that. Same goes for if she's not feeling well.

But if she's had a headache for three weeks and/or she's still pissed off b/c I called her mother a big fat bitch (the truth, if I said it!) and it's been three weeks....well, I feel no guilt in getting Fine Fiona Fling-thing to vector my pecker.

That's the truth.

And the REVERSE holds true as well, guys. Yes, your woman got fat. They ALL do, unfortunately. Just b/c you don't want to tap that fat ass anymore doesn't mean that some other guy won't want to! Remember: One man's trash is another man's treasure!

Let the flames fly.

Just b/c you've never actually HAD sex, buddy, don't thumb your nose at it. A healthy sexual relationship is a NORMAL part of a HEALTHY ADULT relationship. Any adult with half a brain will laugh at what you just said.

I will laugh twice. Ha. Ha. B/C I have a whole brain. :D

Agreed. Sex isn't the only part of a relationship, but it is a major part of a healthy relationship. There are other major parts as well, but sex is one of them. To ignore this will only lead to disappointment and trouble.

Wrong! If someone is considering having sex outside of a relationship (especially marriage), they shouldn't be in that relationship.

Not that you need to actually know any of my personal business, but I am FAR from virgin.
