I sit in a chair for 8 hours and do absolutely nothing. I could not go in for a week and my productivity would not go down. I literally sit in a chair an BS with a few friends at work for 8 hours and then go home.

What do you do?

I lift heavy things all day, take orders from a$$holes, get paid $7 an hour straight time, $8 cash for OT pay (they are cheap asses), work 55+ hours a week. No fun at my job.

I have a government job, your tax dollars at work...lol.

sounds like my job.

If we dont have a build to test w/, its open season on the internet.

Except i never do anything, ever.

I guess I don't know how to take this post. But, you seem content with doing nothing for 8 hours day. Correct?

I guess I just want more out of life and love being challenged in what I do.

Actually it is driving me and everyone i work with crazy

If i wrote down all the productive things, anything that even resembled work, that i have done in the last 6 months it wouldn't be as long as this post. Do you have any idea how long 8 hours last when all you have to do is take a one hour lunch break. That gives you that warm fuzzy feeling like you accomplished something doesn't it, can't belive tomorrow is monday...again. No wonder almost all of us are borderline alcoholics and/or chainsmokers.

Oh and we have a contract that doesn't run out until the end of the nect fiscal year, so we are stuck for like another 12 months.

I flip burgers with teenagers / early 20-somethings. I make sure to make it fun. 😉

You work at McDonald's again?!

I'd kill to go back there if they paid me the same as I make now.

Yep.

Yeah, nothing like a dull / stressful / whatever job to make one realize just how fun a McD job is. But the pay blows. 😛 What do you do now?

I'm a geospatial analyst at the local NASA. It sounds boring, but it's actually mindnumbing.

I rated my job a 6, i just started last week so far it seems good and the kid that set me up with the job said it is easy. The pay is good i make my own hours and the boss is awesome. Only thing is the job is very repetative i do the same thing day after day.

I voted 8....but it's more around 6.5 to 9, depending on the day. I'm an aquarist and also cross-train with the mammal staff. So 4 days a week I'm caring for my fish, which really ain't all that bad. One day a week I get my fish care done uber-fast and then help the mammals with their River otters, Sea Otters and Sumatran Tigers.....over time though, it's still work and alot of stuff does become tedious. But the sheer uniqueness of my job makes me feel cool. And it's not exactly the same everyday, and I also get to work on my own projects/exhibit changes.....oh yeah, and it's the best scuba diving in the area.

...but the pay sucks horrible donkey a$$.

4....my job blows, but I get to talk to lots of really really mean people. Then I get to kick them out. It all works out.

At least you got the bling. 😉 Trade ya!

Pretty good. I sit down and Google for information about movies, then enter it into a database. Other tasks include removing DVDs from their cases, entering them into sleeves and filing them, and sometimes rebuffing scratched discs. We lan on Fridays.

It's rare in that I don't find myself counting the hours I've been there 😛

9 and 10 at both jobs, otherwise I wouldn't want those jobs.

Where else am I going to get to play with water balloon slingshots, electrocute hotdogs to cook them, fire my "doppler effect" frisbee down the hallway (ear-piercing!), create a sonic boom, explode the bottom of a desk (oops), etc. ??

my job is awesome!! i get paid to learn - i'm in training to be a sales rep for a biotech company. everyday is a great day because i know that the devices i sell are helping people improve their lives and everyday is different and always busy. i also have the pleasure to work with lots of interesting ppl. and all my superiors (everyone is superior to me, alas i am at the bottom of the foodchain) are all very cool and helpful. 😀 my job rocks!

oh and if anyone is a senior in college or just graduated with a bme/engineering/bio degree and is looking for a really great entry level job pm me - maybe i can hook u up.

Both my full time and part time jobs are CSR, so I'm at the desk and on the phone all the time in my little cubicle. Very strict on stats (call duration time/wrapup time) and sales is equally important. I like the pay but dread going to work everyday.

I gamble when I get off as a sort of stress relief and as a third job/income. Been doing very good so far. So long as I keep my emotions under control. I've been pretty smart and lucky about it so far.

7

ive only been at this job about a month.

if you consider looking at engineering plans, drawing lines and entering data about said lines into a database fun.

which i do to an extent.

My jobs okay. I like it mostly cause 70% of the employee's are girls, hot ones at that. So yeah I like it.
