Yes I've found a thread on a similar question but it didn't have a poll. Just wanted to see what a typical commuting distance and time for the ATOT genpop is like. Poll include both distance and time since we all know too well one has little correlation to the other depend on where you live.

2.5 miles and 6 minutes with heavy traffic.
I will never understand folks who want to make long commutes. It sucks up gas and makes you miserable before & after work.

Like 10-12 miles or so (I'm not really sure) and 30 minutes. It wasn't so bad--I liked the commute. You have time to relax, blast some music, and be with yourself.

Just a hair over 2 miles. I probably spend most of my commute time walking from my car to my office.

With gas over $3/gallon and expected to climb closer to $4/gallon; unless I am working from home I am driving too far and the commute is too long.

About 5 miles and it takes me 30-40 minutes door to door (walk to train, transfer train, and walk to work).

About half a mile, it takes just as long to walk from my dorm to the parking lot and from the parking lot to the door as it does for me to drive there. I don't think I'd (in the near future) consider working some place that takes me more than about twenty minutes to get there.

~52 miles each way for me, and if traffic is cooperative, like a Friday in the summer, it takes me about 45 mins. All but about 1.5 miles is highway. Avg day is about 70-5 mins, but lately, and especially if it is raining or snowing, it can be over 2 hours.

XM 202 FTW.

4 miles. I'm unable to answer how long it takes because the time isn't included in your poll. It takes me 5 1/2 minutes.

Clearly not "< 5 min" and clearly not "6-15 min".

Heh, same thing happened to me for distance. I'm 0.8 miles away, but no option covers that.

After working walking distance for so long now, I don't think I'd ever be willing to go back to driving every day.

48 miles. 1hr 15 minutes. Nice drive, but getting expensive. Things keep going the way they are I may have to garage the caprice and get a vespa. :(

Just over a mile or so. I walk it in 20 minutes, but the subway can make my door-to-door commute in 11 minutes.

90045 to 90278. Door to door is 9 miles, and usually takes me 15-18 minutes (lots of street driving, only about 4.5 miles on the 405 N/S). I have a pretty good commute because I'm always going opposite the worst traffic in the morning in evening.

4 miles. 7-8 minutes (barring unusual traffic). I've been spoiled the last few years having short commutes. Can't say I miss the old days of spending 45 minutes to an hour driving through Boston.

about 10 miles, 15 minutes, turned down more money at other places for this "perk" used to work Downtown Bham and took me a little over an hour to get to work each day. I never thought before how important 2 hours a day, 5 days a week was.

20 miles. Takes less than 20 minutes to get there, and anywhere from 45-90 minutes coming home. Mopac is a killer.

48 miles, 55-80 minutes each way depending on traffic. It sucks sometimes but a lot of times I enjoy the peace and quiet.
