I have a 733 now and I am looking to determine how far people have overclocked their chips and what type of cooling they are using.

I am going to assume that that is going to be around 140 to 150 fsb maybe higher but I doubt it.
5.5x150fsb= 827mhz or so. You don't have the best chip for OCing. You should have a 700e or better for that. I have a 800e if you want to buy it cheap, retail. It will do 900mhz at default voltage. I am assuming it will do better at 1.7v to 1.75v with the highest you will want it at probably 1.8v. Should do a gig then. You are stuck with that nasty low multi.

I know this chip sucks...but this computer was issued to me when I got to West Point...so I cannot complain to much. I already have it at 814 stably. And it has been higher only by funneling cold air from outside into my case. I am trying to make do with what I have unitl i can get a better overclocker!

I have a PIII 800e runnin at 1028MHz at 2.05 volts, 129 FSB and runnin cool at 75 F. After an hour playing some NOLF, it's around 85 F. I have two noisy 120's mounted in my case also and a Golden Orb mounted on that chip. Can't get it stable at 2.00 volts at 129 FSB. But very stable at 124 FSB at 1.90 volts.
Just wanted to let ya know,

ryko... im affraid your not gonna get much higher(if at all) with that CPU shiggy.... id strap an alpha PAL or an globa-win FOP-38 on that 800e if you really want to realize its full over-clocking potential.

Wow, that is some major mhz/voltz. Must also be some major heat evolved I presume. I didn't think you could push the PIII to those volts without it kicking out. Did you hard wire or what? If so how do you do this:D What stepping are you running? I am running cBO.

I went and got that be-6II they were bragging about so much. It had better not let me down:D I expect over a gig with this pig but will probably need better cooling for that and maybe not though. I will tell you how it ends up.

olman,
no i didn't hardwire, just cranked up the volts and fsb. I am runnin cCO stepping. I got it stable now at 1064 MHz with a FSB at 133.3 and 2.20 volts. Been playing some NOLF for the last hour and half and no probs. And the hottest that i have seen it is at 89 F. Like i said before, I have 2 NOISY as He** 120's mounted in my case and a Golden Orb (that everyone says they are awful).

I've got a PIII 667EB that is retail box stock with the Intel HS & fan. I can run it all day w/ 150 fsb. Even though the temp didn't go up too much I usually don't run it that hard for fear of toasting it when not paying attention, if it goes it'll be awhile until I can afford to replace it. See sig. for system specs.

built someone a 733/cusl-2 rig and at one point decided to see how far the chip went. made it over 907 at 1.65v like it was nuthin. as far as i tried.
