I've seen a lot of people spell "separate" and "desperate" different ways. Both claiming they're right. Although after SAT II: Writing, I know "separate" and "desperate" is right, yet the people tell me they've been spelling it "seperate" and "desparate" their whole lives... how do you spell it?

Edit: Fvck, forgot the poll.

Dictionary!

Yeah, everyone I've met who has spelled "separate" "seperate" and "desperate" "desparate" claims they're right... I guess since they so self-righteous, they don't bother to look it up. No worries, ATOT is your friend :D.

Well I've been right about separate. But not desparate(old habits die hard ;)). This is quite possibly the first time the internet has rocked my world.:D:beer:

seperate and desperate. How else would I spell them?

uh... it's "separate" not "seperate" you've just proved my point.

erm... i searched dictionary.com for "seperate"... word not found and refers to "separate" the right way!

Desperate has no relation to separate. Why would they be sepelled the same way? Are you thinking of disparate?

Someone once told me there's a rat in separate. I've remembered that ever since. Oh, and that reminds me. Some people would have written "every since".   Grrrr...that burns my biscuits!
