It's hard to picture how others say it. I've only ever heard hew-stin. Mostly like a tin can, but not as clear.

And I am posting from there at the moment. I did some reasearch on this at one time and is seems that at one time You-ston was considered the proper pronunciation but over time it became Hue-ston.....as always I may be incorrect here but that is what I remember.

I love this forum. And I mean that.

I am a Texan and I have, lived in Houston. I don't now because I can't stand the big city life. I didn't think there was so many ways to say Houston. I'm impressed. I have learned tonight that no matter how you say it, you've said it right, depending on where you are from. You'all have made me proud. In south Texas we pornounce it Hue-stun. Have fun.
