Some banks actually control it for you.Originally posted by: Staley8
So where can I sign up for free online bill paying? Do I have to contact each company that I get a bill from and tell them they can take money electronically?
1) If you go to your bank and pay your bills from your bank (you have to type each one in individually), then most likely you will have a monthly fee for this service. This of course will vary from bank to bank (like mine if you have over $5000 in the bank the monthly fee is waived).Originally posted by: Staley8

Sure does, I'm locked out of my account though at the moment. I had to change the password and I seem to have forgotten itOriginally posted by: RossMAN

2) If you go to each company that bills you and tell them your bank account number (if you do this online it is the same amount of work on your part as #1), then it is completely free in all cases I've ever seen.
I have yet to see a good reason why I should do #1 and pay a lot of money instead of doing #2 for free.
