Poll: How do you cool your CPU

P4C 2.6GHz @2.9GHz.
Zalman CNPS7000A-AlCu keeps the CPU at 30C at idle and at 45C under full load (prime95) at minimum RPM (quiet).
I have also set mem:cpu to 4:5 and overclocked to 3.2GHz. Then, the full load CPU temperature goes to 50C. Still at minimum RPM.

I assume you are refering to my post. I hope I am not wrong.
I change lots in the bios. You can search on the internet for overclock guide and read on that. Don't change anything until you have read some. Even then, don't change frequency or timings too much at once. Change things gradually and one at a time.
 
The stock AMD sink is fine for my purposes; this CPU can't go a single megahertz over 2.2GHz (either multiplier or bus-bumped), so I don't need hardcore cooling. Granted, it's not icy cold like if I had tossed a solid copper block on top of it, but I don't mind a 55C socket and a 46C case. (Temperatures measured after playing Doom 3 for about two hours.)
 
I got a 2.8C running at 3.2 using an XP-120 with a very low speed fan on a fan controller (120mm fan runs at 1200rpm max). Temps range from 23C idle up to 47C full load (and fairly hot room).
 
I use a peltier / air combo, with it, my cpu ran at 30-33 idle and 44-47 load.
iWhile it was pretty quiet, it wasn't quiet enough for me so I put my old zalman CNPS700CUback on, recabled my system and put back my old case fans and now I'm at about 39-42 idle/light browsing to 49-52 under load/heavy gaming.
Quiet to the point where it is almost silent. I have to look at the leds to see if its accessing my HD or not.
pretty good trade off, I can live with those temps.

It's nice to see someone who is not too bothered about moderately high case temps.

Must admit my case temp is hovering at about 38C on load at the moment. This is about 14C above ambient.

fan has never been so much fun -and thats turned down to where my
woman doesen't get mad :thumbsup:
I'm set till I can get a PCIX NF4 Mobo for a 64
Till then i'm digging this last athlon xp goodness
