Step right up and cast your vote, I was tinkering around with my alpha pal35t, I flipped tha fan around to blow air on to the heatsink and I REMOVED THE SHROUD AND FASTENED THE FAN ON GOOD AND TIGHT, some of you already know what happened, the shroud is also a spacer, when I removed it and tightened the screws, they went all the way through the heatsink, AND IN TO THE FOUR CORNERS OF MY P3 700 CB0! Dumbass, Dumbass, Dumbass it took a while to figure out why my computer would not boot, finally I took the hs/fan off and removed my p3, I almost cried (o.k. I did cry, but only for a few minutes) when I saw what I had done, at each of the four corners of the cpu there were bright shiny round marks where the screws had gouged the surface of the chip, the green coating is gone and the metal is showing through
I was cursing and whining and moaning the whole time while I was putting it back together, PRAYING, that it would boot, even if it wouldnt overclock anymore, just please let it boot!
Well, I did get it back together and so far it is running fine at 933, I ran 3dmark 2000 , and a few apps, no weird stuff yet, this is the stupidest thing I have ever done to a computer, cast your vote and give me a good swift kick in the @ss while your at it.
