poll: hot sauce

Probably medium-hot to hot. However, I like the kinds that you can actually taste the peppers, and not just the hot. I also don't like hot sauces that linger for hours.

Same here seeing as I'm Thai. Of course, there is a point when all you taste is heat. I like to taste the flavor of the original food so I don't drench everything... just enough to give it that "kick". 🙂
 
I've tasted Thai Hot Pepper powder.

wasn't that hot...
Indian stuff is pretty hot.
South Western stuff are very mild even though it says it's hot.

between medium and hot or hot..

mild's fine... but i like something with a bit of kick

not a fan of suicide stuff... no point in dying young over some food 😛
 
Depends on my mood.

Tabasco is always a valid choice, Cholula a close second.
If I want super-hot, and depending on the type of food, I'll use chili oil or Dave's Insanity Special Reserve (3x as hot as normal Dave's)

Ah, but my mum does the same. She uses birdseye chillies with garlic and ginger mixed in and the seeds. It's tasty 😛

Yup, if it's not tasty then it's a waste...aka: Man can not live on Hot alone.

The best Hot food IMO has to be Indian, plenty of Hot with lots of exotic flavour. Yumm.

I don't know what you ate but Thai hot peppers are incredibly hot. They're not quite as hot as habaneros but they're close.

i guess whne you grow up eatign the stuff there is no replacemtn for the homemade stuff...heck my kids eat the mild and they are only 3 and 2 yrs old!
 
I have 7 habanero plants. Supposedly, they are the two hottest habs. I think I will try making my own sauce this year. Mmmmm.
